Admin App

The Admin App is the browser UI for a Haste Health tenant. It is two consoles, and which one you get is decided by the host you open, not by a link inside the app:

A project is addressed by subdomain, so opening a project is a new origin rather than a route. In a local Docker Compose setup the system console is http://my-health_system.localhost:3001.

System console​

The system console opens on three tabs:

  • Projects — the tenant's projects. Each row has Open console (opens that project's console in a new tab), a pencil to edit the project resource, and a delete button. New project creates one inline; the form shows the address the name will be reachable at.
  • Users — the tenant's User resources and their tenant-level role.
  • Identity providers — the tenant's IdentityProvider resources. See the identity provider guides for wiring one up.

Each tab is a resource listing at /r/[ResourceType], with a New [ResourceType] button. Clicking a row opens the editor at /r/[ResourceType]/[id].

The system project has no project console of its own: it is this console.

Project console​

A project console is one screen: a sidebar on the left, a command bar across the top of the workspace, and the results underneath.

The command bar​

Everything addressable in a project is a FHIR path typed into the command bar, which sits at /r/*. A command is a verb plus a target, and GET is implicit:

The verbs are GET, POST, PUT, PATCH and DELETE. Because a write whose target is a search is exactly a conditional write, conditional creates, updates and deletes are typed the same way as the reads. The request the console will send is shown beneath the bar before you run it, and each command you run is kept in the Recent rail on the right.

The sidebar​

  • Pinned — types you starred, kept at the top. The star appears when you hover a type.

  • Resource types — every type the server advertises in its CapabilityStatement, around 155 of them, grouped into collapsible FHIR modules (Base, Clinical, Financial, Specialized, Foundation, SQL on FHIR, Haste Health). The filter box flattens the groups to a single list of matches.

  • Operate — the views that are not a single resource type:

Editing a resource​

A resource editor has a Form tab generated from the type's StructureDefinition, a JSON tab, and a History tab for a resource that already exists. Some types bring their own editor in front of those: ViewDefinition, OperationDefinition, Subscription, AccessPolicyV2, IdentityProvider and Questionnaire.

Saving is under the Actions dropdown at the top right: Create for a new resource, Update for an existing one, and Delete.

Settings​

Settings in the sidebar (or the profile menu) is where a project's own configuration lives:

  • Tenant Branding — display name and logo, for tenant owners.
  • User and Project Context — the claims from your current token: subject, role, tenant, project, audience and scope. Click a value to copy it.
  • Multi-Factor Authentication — a link out to enrolling authenticator apps.
  • FHIR and OIDC Endpoints — the URLs clients need: FHIR R4 Base URL, FHIR Capabilities URL, OIDC Discovery URL, OIDC Token Endpoint, OIDC Authorization Endpoint and MCP URL. Click one to copy it. These are the values the CLI and web app tutorial ask for.
  • Authorized Applications — apps holding granted scopes, each revocable.
  • Active Sessions — refresh tokens currently issued, each revocable.

Keyboard shortcuts​

The sidebar's Keyboard shortcuts entry lists the current bindings; Cmd / (Ctrl / off a Mac) opens the same help. The command bar holds focus for most of a session, so the navigation chords carry a modifier rather than being bare letters.
